Before you start a training
All of our online trainings work the same way. This page takes a minute to read and will save you repeating one.
The three things you have to do
Your certificate is not the record. Saving, printing or emailing it does not tell anyone you finished. You must also press Record my completion, which opens a short form with your details already filled in — then press Submit. If you skip that step, as far as our records are concerned you did not take the training.
Questions
Do I need a login?
No. Open the link and start. Nothing to sign up for.
Can I stop partway and come back?
Yes. Your place is saved automatically. But it is saved in the browser on that one computer — so come back on the same device, in the same browser. If you switch to your phone or another machine you will start over.
What if I fail the knowledge check?
Retake it. You will see which questions you missed and why. There is no limit and no penalty.
How do I save the certificate, or get it emailed to me?
Three ways, all on the certificate screen, and any one of them is enough.
Download certificate saves it as a file in one click — the simplest. It opens in any browser and looks exactly like the screen.
Print / Save as PDF opens the print box; choose “Save as PDF” as the destination instead of a printer.
Email it to me — type your address in the box next to it and press the button. Your email program opens with the message already written; just press Send. If nothing opens, a copy box appears underneath — copy that text and paste it into Outlook on the web, Gmail, or wherever you read mail.
I am using a shared computer. Anything to watch for?
Press Start fresh before you begin if the page opens with someone else’s name or progress. And when you finish, press Start fresh again so the next person starts clean.
I lost my certificate. Can I get it again?
Yes, if you recorded your completion. Send your name and the training to info@awservices.com and it can be reissued from the record. If you never pressed Record my completion, there is nothing to reissue — you would need to take the training again.
Some trainings are in person. How do those work?
Your presenter gives you a session code at the end of the session. Open that training’s page, enter the code, fill in your details, and you get a certificate marked “completed in person”. Still press Record my completion at the end.
Does this replace my school’s own policy?
No. These trainings explain what the rules require. Your school’s own policies are the rules, and some trainings also need you to read and sign a policy document separately. Your administrator will tell you which.
AW Services provides these trainings for the schools it supports. They give general guidance and are not legal advice; where they differ from your school’s own Board‑approved policies, follow your school’s policy and ask your administrator. Progress and any notes you type are stored only in the browser you use.
